Occupational therapy in workplace mental health

Today we want to share a resource we’ve created with you.

We are the co-chairs of a workplace mental health committee for the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. The committee consists of various occupational therapists who work in various roles related to workplace mental health. We create and work on various projects related to this area of practice, and focus on promotion and advocacy.

Last year, one of our objectives was to create resources to help explain what occupational therapists can do to support workplace mental health. We created two fact sheets- one for the public, and one for employers or insurance companies.

We have included them here for you to review. They are also available online here. We hope you find them helpful in broadening your understanding of the OT role in workplace mental health. Please let us know what you learned from reading these. Did anything surprise you? Do you have any ideas on how we can make these better? Please share!

Enjoy!
